Topic: Glenn Young Twenty Years of Coaching Award
Deadline: Wednesday, April 8, 2026
The Surrey Elementary Schools Athletic Association (SESAA) is now accepting nominations for the Glenn Young Twenty Years of Coaching Award, to be presented at the AGM on May 21, 2026. Staff are welcome to nominate a colleague—or themselves—for this recognition.
This award honours individuals who have dedicated 20 years or more to supporting school athletics and enriching student experiences through coaching. SESAA acknowledges that during the pandemic, many educators continued to foster physical activity through intramurals and creative school‑based opportunities. These years count toward the 20‑year milestone in recognition of the continued commitment and passion shown during challenging times.
We encourage submissions that highlight long-term service, steadfast enthusiasm for student athletics, and the positive impact nominees have made in promoting healthy, active school communities.

Topic: Ross Davidson Coaching Excellence Award
Deadline: Wednesday, April 8, 2026
The Surrey Elementary Schools Athletic Association (SESAA) is seeking nominations for the Ross Davidson Coaching Excellence Award, to be presented at the AGM on May 21, 2026. This distinguished award honours coaches who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership, and service across our district.
Ross Davidson was a coach, organizer, and mentor whose influence reached far beyond the athletes on his own teams. His legacy continues and is defined by his unwavering commitment to doing more—more for students, more for coaches, and more for the continued growth of athletics in Surrey. He hosted numerous training workshops, clinics, and events that supported the development of skills and confidence for students across the district. His work exemplified the belief that school sport is not just about competition, but about community, opportunity, and character.
The Ross Davidson Coaching Excellence Award honours individuals who represent these same values—those who give tirelessly of their time, expertise, and energy to build positive athletic experiences for all students, and who contribute to the broader SESAA community in meaningful and lasting ways. This is not simply an award for outstanding coaching; it is a recognition of district‑wide leadership, long‑term commitment, and a legacy of service that enriches the lives of countless students and colleagues.
