Our Grade 3 - 7 elementary student athletes will be provided with a unique opportunity to 'kick–off' the inaugural Surrey World International Music Marathon weekend with a unique cross country event at Holland Park in Surrey on
Thursday, September 27 from Noon – 2:00 pm.

To register your school teams for this event, please go to  http://bit.ly/QpD3zW by 4pm September 20th.
You will need to enter the number of boys and girls from Grades 3 to 7 that intend to participate at this meet.

The shape of the day:
Noon—schools will arrive @ Holland Park
1215—coaches meeting
1230—Races start. Each grade and gender starting roughly every 5-7 minutes.
1:30—Wrap up celebration
1:45—Depart for school

Healthy refreshments will be provided such as fruit and water. Top finishing students will receive placing ribbons as per our normal cross country events and ALL students will receive a commemorative card.

A special thank you to PE Helping Teacher Glenn Young and Cross Country Convenors Phil Turcotte and Ross Davidson for their instrumental work in helping make this event happen for the Surrey Elementary Athletic Society athletes.  It looks like it will be a tremendous event!

Welcome to our initial blog post.  We are a group of dedicated volunteers located in Surrey, BC, Canada.  We communicate, co-ordinate, and work with coaches to foster an environment of participation, enjoyment, and improved skill in a variety of sports in Surrey (SD#36), British Columbia Elementary Schools.   Students in our district enjoy soccer, cross-country, volleyball, basketball, badminton, ultimate, and track & field sport seasons.   The sports are primarily coached by Surrey Elementary teacher, principal, and vice-principal volunteers.

The purpose of this blog is to provide insight into our leagues, philosophies, rules, students, executive, convenors, zone reps, and coaches.  This blog in time will hopefully see guest posts done by a variety of volunteers within and possibly outside our school district.  They will give insight on their experiences and expertise relating to student athletics inside and outside of SD#36.
